You may have a hidden file that's filling the space, to see if it is try this: Open File Explorer and go to C:\Users\[your username]\Desktop. Make sure this view is showing hidden files. See if there are any hidden desktop shortcuts here that could be taking up space

This kind of thing happened to me recently and what fixed it was this- I unplugged my PC and had taken out and cleaned the RAM, then installed Windows using the USB again and it finally worked.

Chrome constantly uses a lot of CPU power so your CPU may be over heating, so it could be a hardware issue and may have to add thermal paste again. Just a suggestion :)

Try a different mouse out see if it does the same thing. Here is maybe another soloution: Go in to your control panel then select mouse settings>uncheck the "ClickLock" box>go to pointers tab make sure it is set to "Normal Select". That should hopefully sort it for you :)
