Try to run some temperature monitoring software while gaming, to see what temperatures are doing at the point of stuttering. Maybe your CPU / GPU is throttling.

Try to locate problem and focus on one thing at a time. First, focus on the cheap option. It may be a wonky cable. Try replacing the cable with another one. Try all possible cable combinations you can use, and see if it helps.
