You can replace the bios chip for about $20; see Amazon or Ebay. Also, have you tried resetting the bios via the jumper method?

This sounds very much like an overheating problem. I would first check that both cpu and gpu. The easiest fix is to re-dope the thermal paste on the cpu; don't over-do it.
