Thank you for elaborate answers, I'll probably postpone my upgrade till better times. I do get some performance drops occasionally but it doesn't bother me much. If the upgrade gave me solid 20 FPS boost in demanding games I'd most certainly do it, but it seems I am a bit too hopeful :sneaky:

I looked up some tests on GTX 1080 paired with Ryzen 5 5600x instead of my aged 3770k. The difference between my rig and theirs was less than 10 FPS and it made me wondering if it's even worth upgrading.
I am running an i7-3770k@ 4.4 GHz OC paired with MSI GTX 1080 Hawk 8 GB and Kingston HyperX 16 GB DDR3-2133 OC.
