Hey guys so after 3 years i'm finally upgrading from my ryzen 2600x, 1060 6gb 24gb ram PC.
here are the specifications / part list of my new one:
intel i5 10600k
gigabyte b560m ds3h
3060 ti LHR
2x8 16gb 3000mhz corsair
500gb samsung SSD
2tb seagate HDD
hyper 212 black edition cooler

If I put a RAM stick in any other slot except the 4th one the cpu and dimm light on the debug lights up. Both sticks work in the 4th slot but neither work in the other 3. What could be the issue?

I was initially pretty sure I'd go for an i5 10600K (only because of the higher base frequency). However, now I've learnt that there's a lot more to consider (IPC, supported memory speeds etc) and hence even a lower base frequency...
