I have an AMD 6650XT and I recently decided to reapply its thermal paster after getting high core and hotspot temps while under load (85 and 95). After reapplying thermal paste (MX-4), the core temps dropped to 75 under load but the hotspot temps increased to 105-108!
I have read online that...
So, my GPU was having a weird hotspot temperature of 90-100 during load while my core temps were around 70 while gaming. I thought that was strange so I decided to repad and repaste.
I used cooler master V1 IC value thermal compound for GPU die and Arctic APT2560 1mm thermal pad for the rest...
After intensely gaming on my Gigabyte RTX 3070 Gaming OC for a year, I decided to repaste it with ARCTIC MX-4 paste.
However, my first repaste was much worse than the original temps, reaching 105 degrees on the hotspot almost instantly.
Then I redid it carefully, by first covering every part...
So some info about the whole ordeal first, Recently I repasted my Asus Zephyrus M GU502GU about 3 weeks ago with Cooler Master master gel maker and undervolted it. I ran cinbench r20 to verify if the repasting improved the temps and I got max temps of around 80 degrees celsius on the CPU which...
Hello All,
I repasted my laptop's CPU/GPU as they were heating over 95C while gaming. Since it was my first time I managed to screw it up. Now looking for help...
I opened the laptop and unplugged the battery and removed the cooling solution and cleaned everything there. On the GPU and CPU used...
Hello,
I'm repasting my cpu and gpu on my laptop and have noticed kapton tape around both cpu/gpu. Is kapton tape necessary for when repasting? I researched and read that it's meant to protect the surrounding if you use liquid metal but I have read other opinions as well, so I'm not so sure...
Hey everyone,
So I just finished doing a repaste using the Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut liquid metal paste on my Lenovo Legion Y720. This is my first time repasting and I didn't quite realise at first that it's a bit risky with liquid metal pastes. The problem is that my laptop no longer...
