10 essential programs that every PC gamer must own

The registry cleaner stuff is fairly useless, while its not a bad idea to clean the registry, the performance boost is not really noticeable.

3dmark is ok I guess if you like to compare you system but I'm not a fan of synthetic benchmarks.

I'm using AVG but I'd say that BitDefender would be better for a gamer since it use less ressources.

AdAware is good, I would add Spybot and his TeaTimer too they are a great combo. It's not very gamer specific though

I don't see anything special about Irfan, as a gamer I'd prefer a program that automatically save my screenshot to a directory instead of having to alt+esc and ctrl+v

Winrar is must but not gamer specific at all.

Dunno about ATITool. Can Nvidia cards use it too?

As you said Moddb.com is not a program but it's to good to know it exist I guess.

ATITool received an update sometime ago that makes it compatible with nvidia cards. Also, since it includes a built-in benchmarking tool that tests for artifacts, it can be very useful for overclocking.

Irfan View, while not special in its own right, is still a free image viewer. Unless someone new to computers or PC gaming buys Photoshop or finds another free image viewer, they're going to be stuck pasting into paint and wordpad.

Around two-thirds of all mods or patches are in .RAR format, making WinRAR gamer specific enough to be on the list. It's still a great utility either way though.

Thanks for the feedback

Couldn't agree more!! Saddly my new 22" Monitor makes DiabloII look like Lego D&D 🙁 Bring on Diablo III 😀 😀 😀 😀

+1 to IH8U comment.

Some other ones I like are cpu-z and eleet. But these are more for overclockers. Not sure if these really would qualify for a gamers list? Maybe though.

Yeah I was thinking about including CPU-Z. It is very useful, even if your not into overclocking and just want to know the details of your system. May need to make a second list.
