APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: April 9th, 2020

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Mostly for gaming; but I do plan on using the new build for some light HD video processing and editing, music production, and a few Adobe CS4 programs.

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: (Cooler Master HAF 922, Das Keyboard, Logitech MX518, 21.5" Samsung 1080p Monitor, Harman Kardon 2.1 Stereo Speakers, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit, and an Intel 40GB SATA II SSD )

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: Mainly Newegg, but I'm not opposed to picking up parts from my nearbey Microcenter COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: US

PARTS PREFERENCES: I'd like to stick with brands that have better reputations. I know a lot of people on these threads like Asrock, but I'd prefer to go Asus, Gigabyte, EVGA, or MSI. Now, in terms of the processor, I'd like to stick with intel, but I know from a cost/performance perspective that I should go AMD. :/ What can I say? I'm curious to try out Intel's new processors. +D

OVERCLOCKING: Yes SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Yes.

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920 x 1080

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I've done some research, but I feel I could most certainly benefit from some advice and input from the knowledgeable users here on the TH forums =) Here's my preliminary collection of components. I've already obtained the Case and an SSD to boot. Ive got a little over 1k to spend on the components for this build; the budget is firm. I'm trying to build a setup that can be overclocked, is Crossfire ready, and can play most current games at higher settings.

Here's the preliminary list of components: https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.aspx?ID=18526308

Thanks for reading, and I appreciate and will make adjustments to my build from the input I receive here.

Core I-7 750 $160 at your microcenter.

Total is $1013

Only disadvantage with this build is that the socket is at the end of its life. If you want AMD then you would have further upgradability down the road.

Here's a good AMD Build.

$1013

Both will perform about the same in builds, the I-5 will do better rendering etc but only slightly. you should go look the two processors up to see which would better fit you. The AMD build has much more future upgradability though.

Here's also a nice combo you can use if you want a free copy of MW2. The motherboards are basically the same as the one I suggested above.

That's precisely the reason I'm here - and I do plan on utilizing the feedback I get here so I can get the most bang for my buck.

If gaming is the most inported to you, i would go with whitefangs AMD HD 5870 build it will give you 20 to 30 % more GPU

But like he said the i5 750 will be better for the other things you like to do ( not that the AMD build cant do them ) but might just take a bit longer to get it done
