Hello everyone,

I'm actually searching for the best deal for a 1230$ gaming rig ! I need your advices. Here is a possible configuration that I made:

Case: Azza Solano 1000

Processor: Intel Core i7 2600 (3.4 GHz)

Motherboard: Asus P8Z68-V PRO or Asus P8P67 PRO

GPU: MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II O/C

Power supply: Silverstone Strider Plus 750W or Thermaltake Toughpower XT 750W

HDD: WD Caviar Black 640 GB or Hitachi Desktar 1 TB

Memory: Kingston HyperX 8GB or G SKILL Ripjaws 8 GB

Now, some questions for you:

1. How is this gaming rig ?

2. Is the Z68 chipset worth getting ?

3. Can a mid-tower handle 2 graphic cards ?

Thanks for your help :)

P.S. The system needs to cost 1100$ (max. 1130$ on Newegg.ca) before shipping and taxes !

I wouldn't recommend an i7 for gaming, it costs $100 or so more than an i5-2400 or if you want to overclock, a 2500k. They also provide pretty similar results when gaming. Also, the Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB is supposed to be cheaper and faster than the WD black so thats worth a look.

1. Ok but the same performance can be had for a lot less.

2. I would say yes because you can get a x8/x8 SLI board for cheaper than P67 and it has other features too.

3. Depends on the mid tower and the graphics card but i would say any of them would fit 2 560's.
