115/230Vac on 240V??

Am planning to purchase a Thermaltake VL85501W2Z Mid Tower Case which comes with 550W psu

I have a few questions concerning this psu:

1. It has an input voltage range of 115/230Vac and Input Frequency of 50 ~ 60 Hz . Does this mean that
it can't work on a 240V socket, since where i come from sockets supply 240v 60Hz?

2. Will the psu be enough to supply my HD 5770??

It will work and it's powerful enough, but it might not be of the highest quality. Don't forget to switch it to 230V.

Am trying to look for a case with a good psu, Preferably under $100.

Even an Antec Sonata III will cost more than $100. The Thermaltake is not bad for what you want to do, but the fact that it has a 115/230 switch insteda of active PFC proves that it's old technology.

It may be Old Skool but can still do the job. I checked the other Thermaltake psu stats and i saw something like 14A@12v1 15A@12v2.

According to some previous threads i need a psu with at least 30A at the 12v rail. Does this mean that this psu is no good??

That Thermaltake PSU has a total of 33A and it's powerful enough for your application. An HD 5770 won't require more than 110 watts at peak. That isn't a huge draw on the 12V rail.
