Hi,

I have just bought a shiny 250GB WD EIDE drive but Windows XP SP2 is only recognising 127Gb. I have a MSI KT266 motherboard and using a PCI Promise Ultra100TX2 controller card for the HDD.

I have update the mobo BIOS and drivers (using MSI live update). During post of the BIOS the Promise controller shows correct drive and size, just windows refuses to see full size. I also updated the promise BIOS to lates version.

Do I need to go onto the promise website and download drivers ? (they seem a little old)
http://www.promise.com/support/download/download2_eng.asp?productId=11&category=driver&os=0

Many thanks !!

It's hard to believe the 48-bit addressing update would be included in SP1 but not SP2, but it certainly sounds like your problem is indeed a 48-bit addressing issue.
