Hi,

Trying to find out if 12VHPWR power cables could be used on 3080 Founders?

Planning on running 3080s and was hoping I could use those cables.

Seasonic PRIME PX-1600 comes with (2) of those connectors.

I couldn't find if that's the same connector type.

Thank you in advance for any feedback!

12VHPWR which is used in RTX 40-series is not the same as the one used in RTX 30-series.

For RTX 30-series, only the 12x power pins are used, while RTX 40-series also has 4x additional pins for sense.

These two are different connectors and not compatible. But you'll get proper adapter with GPU.

If you want dedicated cable from PSU to RTX 3080, contact Seasonic and if they have leftover stock they can send you the proper cable.

Yeah hopefully you can source one through Seasonic, or at least Nvidia (maybe second hand from ebay or something but would have to be certain it's genuine) using their adapter, maybe card still came with adapter? It's either from them or none, don't use any other branded 12pin cable, you run into firework territory.

@boju @Aeacus thank You both for reply - HNY by the way!

PSU comes with (9) PCIE 8 PIN connectors but only (6) 6/8 PIN for GPUs - Could I safely buy additional (2) cables to use 8 slots in the PSU? Any recommendation on the vendor? I.e I see cablemod appearing a lot: https://www.amazon.com/CableMod-Classic-ModFlex-8-pin-Seasonic/dp/B08Z8LW19Y/ref=sr_1_3?sr=8-3

Reason why is I'm building small AI pc based on epyc that will host (4) 3080 FEs.

Yes.

Any recommendation on the vendor?
I'd suggest CableMod and either:
RT-series (ModMesh), cables: https://store.cablemod.com/products/?filter_series=rt-series
or
SE-series (ModFlex), cables: https://cablemod.com/products/?orderby=date&filter_series=se-series

Diff between ModMesh and ModFlex: https://cablemod.com/?faqs=what-is-the-difference-between-modmesh-and-modflex

I too have CableMod custom sleeved cables in use with the 3x Seasonic PSUs i'm using (PRIME 650 Titanium, PRIME Ultra 650 Titanium, Focus+ 550 Platinum) and i have SE-series (ModFlex) for all of them. In different colors, to match the build theme. :sol: Of course, i replaced the stock power cables with the full CableMod set.
E.g this set is in use in my main build: https://cablemod.com/product/cablemod-se-series-xp2-km3-cable-kit-red/

You can check out all 3x of my builds in my sig (pics + specs there).
