C chiefyx Distinguished Dec 9, 2007 2 0 18,510 Dec 9, 2007 #1 Just got my new cpu and mobo, 3ghz E6850 1333 and asus p5k3. i have here one dimm of 1GB DDR3 1066 64MX8 CL7-7-7, and i need another 1GB for sure. How bad is this? Using 1066 with 1333 processor? Worth it to buy another 1 dimm of 1GB?

Its the FSB that clocks at 1333MHz. You really should get another 1GB thou - to enable dual-channel. Only the deluxe version of that motherboard supports DDR3-1600 PC3-12800. Single chan. Dual chan. 1066MHz DDR3-1066 PC3-8500 8.5GB/sec. 17.0GB/sec 1333MHz DDR3-1333 PC3-10600 10.6GB/sec. 21.2GB/sec. 1600MHz DDR3-1600 PC3-12800 12.8GB/sec. 25.6GB/sec.
