thanks for your responses guys i appreciate it. most of that stuff is 100$ more than the original item with the exception of the case which is only 20$ or so more, and the GPU which is like 200$ more. my budget was somewhere under/around $1450 total. I swapped out my HD because your recommended one does look better. The other stuff seems a bit too expensive...

ok its over what you had wanted to pay at $1539 before shipping ~$20 and after Rebates, but here it is also if you just use the motherboard you originally wanted to it will be about 1458 :). if you want i can build you an i5 system for you to take a look at?

case - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129021&cm_re=antec_900-_-11-129-021-_-Product

monitor - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236052

RAM - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227365

Motherboard and Processor combo - http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.350315

Thermal Compound - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100007&cm_re=Arctic_Silver_5-_-35-100-007-_-Product

Optical - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106289

OS - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116754&cm_re=windows_7_home_premium_oem-_-32-116-754-_-Product

HDD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152185&cm_re=spinpoint_f3-_-22-152-185-_-Product

Graphics - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121361&cm_re=5850-_-14-121-361-_-Product

Optional motherboard Processor Combo that brings cost down to $1449 but if you have more than one Graphics card in the pcie2.0 slots it brings SATA III and USB 3.0 down to half bandwidth.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.355680

the Core i7 Processors come with preapplied thermal paste but it is really bad, so i would say you still need the thermal paste.

I have found the best combos that I can.

Really nice parts I think they are a little better/similar to the ones I posted. However, you forgot a PSU :(. That would make it over 1650 I totaled. I want the 5850 BAD but its roughly double the price of a 5770 and I would say not double the performance. Maybe I'm wrong? Thank you for looking up that stuff I really appreciate it man.

~$1509 after rebates and SH is applied its a bit more than you wanted to spend but you get the 5850 if you want it. otherwise you can save some money and just get the 5770, i have the 5850 and personally i love it, in any case there is one thing that price is based on. MOST of the sales from newegg end today march 7th, so you would have to purchase it today in order to get that price. take a look at it, if you have any questions ill be here.

Cool! is visiontek a good company? I am skeptical about buying brands that aren't as popular but open to the idea. Also, that motherboard doesn't have a GREAT customer satisfaction rating. I like the fact that it has USB 3.0. I don't think I will ever spend the money to have two GPUs I like the idea of just one GOOD one so the necessity of 3 PCIe slots is not paramount. What do you think about another mb with USB 3.0? Also, is that the same monitor I posted just from a different website? Thanks man!

Visiontek is a good company, they offer a LIFETIME warrantee on their products (you have to register your card with them within 30 days or so in order to get it though), their tech support is also great. and they are cheap. i've also searched around the internet for just how good they are, and if you do a search for is visiontek a good company in google, you see very few to no cards have gone bad, and when they do only reports of their good customer service.

all of this (including 2 GPU's) is 1687.38 which is over your pricing once again, however you get 2 GPU's with this one. if like you said you do not need 2 GPU's then it will be at 1391.18, a little more for both prices if you use newegg for your GPU's.
