Hey guys i need help because i finally have the money and i feel like Ironside is the best place to get my computer built, but if you have a better website suggestion please let me know!

So, i need a computer that's good for Video editing/Music editing, Gaming ofc, regular internet stuff and i'll be on 24" single monitor doing 1920 x 1080.

Solution
o.k. :)

DO NOT get that 1000w PSU. Its junk. They are probably recommending it because they know it makes no more than 750w. Its crap. When it fails, it WILL take your system out with it.

Buying a computer and not knowing the make of the PSU is one of the most blatantly uneducated and ignorant moves you could make.

The PSU is easily the most important component of your computer.

Its like saying "I know good brake pads cost around $100, but I'll be good with these $15 ones. They work the same right? This warranty will totally help once I wrap the car around a tree at 70mph"

CM = standard PSU. Coolermaster is one of the worst. They fake their 80+ certifications and have AWFUL failure rates. Look it up.

Kingwing has one line of PSU's which are good. They are the most expensive ones. The rest are junk.

Rosewill are the same way. They make one high quality line of PSUs and some half decent stuff that most people stay away from.

You bet, you won't be getting one of the quality units. 1000w for $100 is just not real. It will be junk. I'm sorry

If these brands were Corsair, Seasonic, Antec, XFX, we would be having a different discussion.

I trust ironside not to give me crap lol, they explained everything to me because i was worried about the psu as well.

Never trust a sells rep that is selling you something what power supply is it since you inquired about it they should of told you ?

They're going to be using Kingwin

Just looked it up. That PSU isn't even 80+ rated. Ive never even heard of a PSU more than 700w that isn't at least 80+ bronze. This is nuts. I wouldn't touch that PSU with a 100 foot pole.

The unit has 11 ratings on newegg and half of them said it failed within 6 months.

o.k. well that doesn't tell me which model so here is a handy chart of power supply reviews available: http://www.overclock.net/power-supplies/738097-psu-review-database.html#post9426914

If you'd like to know who manufactures a certain power supply, here are some charts and instructions that you can use to look it up:

Also another note, anything listed by ECOS http://www.plugloadsolutions.com/80PlusPowerSupplies.aspx on the 80Plus charts is likely to be tier 4 or better.

It's probably this one, skip to 1:41 if you'd like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NL_X4MrNYfs&list=UUW8uRKs6ujviFsMP1zOwWIg&index=33

I'll be K ^_^ I'm covered for 3 years, if anything happens i'll have it fixed and change the PSU.

no. whatever the psu blows up is not covered

Lol they told me that it was, so i'm pretty sure i'm good. I asked them specifically on that, and it's all covered, and that's because they believe in the quality of their products so.....

I believe that you think this is a quality unit. The computer will be built with quality and look very nice. The PSU however is not a quality unit. It doesn't matter what they tell you. The point is, it is not a quality unit. It isn't even 80+ certified. This certification is standard for any PSU. This means the efficiency is below 80%. Meaning it will draw more power and use more of your electricity from the wall. The unit likely makes around 800w. Not the full 1000w it says it does. This is common. About half of the reviews online say this failed in the first 6 months. A 1000w PSU for $100 is like diamond earrings for $100, you know there must be something that isn't right.

TBH all components fail even very high end components fail, it comes with the category, and if this just happens to fail like you guys assume it will, well then believe me they'll compensate me. I trust these guys. If you look at it this way, more people buy "quality" brands than they do "standard" brands so ofc when you look up a review, half of them failed, if you were to look up quality brands failure rate i'm sure they'd have a lower % mark and that's because more people are buying them. Now if they had equal sales rate i'm sure it'll 50/50 on both sides.

Your statistics are skewed. If 10 people buy something and half of it failed then 50% of people had a failure. If 1000 people buy something and 500 failed then 50% failure rate as well.

I'm not trying to be rude, but you do not understand. Not every PSU is the same quality. The one you will be getting is a low quality unit (poor performance, poor efficiency, poor design, likely no safety circuit.) It will not be reliable because it just isn't designed to be. Its designed to be cheap not high quality. You cannot compare it to a quality unit because they are completely different in every way. It just plain and simply isn't a good PSU.

lol you can't use numbers like that when it's a thing of "chance". Plus you guys make it sound like i'm going to be stuck with a defected PSU for the rest of my life.
