[SOLVED] 1TB External SSDs has different USED space out-of-box

Hello,

I got 2 brand new External SSDs from Sandisk today - exactly the same model.
I haven't done anything to it at all, just plugged them it and changed the name of one of them.
They have exactly the same pre-installed files at the same size (15MB).

However, one says 109MB space Used and the other nearly 200MB space Used.
Nothing in the recycling bin of either. I've checked under formatting that the sector size is both 1024kb.

What accounts for this 100MB discrepancy?

How did this even happen?

Should I return the one with the 200MB used?

Thanks!

Reformat them and they will be identical.
Who cares about 100MB difference in used space. That is 0.01% of the capacity (1/100 of a percent).

Probably one has larger pre-allocated master file table size.
