[SOLVED] 2 sticks of RAM work, 4 sticks do not

Hi All - I recently purchased an additional 2 sticks of RAM to use all 4 DIMM slots on my MB. They are the same brand (G.SKILL) of RAM with the same timings (16-18-18-38) and speed (DDR4 3200), the only difference is one set is black and the other is red. Once installed, I'm given the standard "Devices Changed (CPU or Memory) or CMOC have been Cleared." prompt and run BIOS. To ensure there are no issues I returned all OC settings to default, have the correct Boot drive selected in Option #1, and select Save Changes and Reboot. Once the system reboots 1 of 4 things happen:

1. After the MSI loading screen the output from the system drops, leaving me with a black screen and no message.
2. Once the MSI loading screen begins to load it freezes with the loading wheel spinning.
3. I'm given a BSOD with the error code SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED.
4. I'm given a BSOD with the error code PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA.

After thinking it was a bad RAM stick I removed my current sticks (red) from A2/B2 slots, replaced them with the new sticks (black) in the same slots, and rebooted. Turns out the new kit works perfectly fine on their own. Only when combining both the new and old kits to occupy all 4 DIMM slots do I have these issues.

I've looked into multiple fixes for this and so far nothing has worked. I've tried removing all hardware and connections from the PC (MB included), installing a new fresh version Windows 10 from USB onto a cleaned memory drive, checked the CPU pins and RAM sockets for a bent connector (there are none), updating my BIOS, rolling back my BIOS, arranging 4 sticks in all possible input arrangements. Nothing works.

Is there something I'm missing in the BIOS that needs to be updated when using 4 DIMM slots instead of 2 DIMM slots? Or is this just a case of a bad MB?

Mixing RAM bought separately is not guaranteed to work together, it is why it is sold in matched kits. Also 4 dimms is more likely to have issues than 2. Have a look at the odd man out section https://forums.tomshardware.com/faq...y-ram-and-xmp-profile-configurations.3398926/

You can try increasing the DRAM voltage, reducing speed, timings or all 3 as that may help.
