A while ago I enabled my XMP to run my ram at 2400mhz but still it runs at 2133mhz what am I supposed to do to fix this? I am using an 8GB single channel ram.

PC Specs:
Processor: I5-6400
Motherboard: Asus H170 Pro Gaming
GPU: GTX 1060 6GB
Ram: G.Skill Ripjaws V 8gb 2400hz DDR4 single channel

Solution
Yes your right, only with 7 series cpus but would have to flash the bios first to accept 7th gen. Your cpu is 6th gen so 2133 is max.

When im trying to put a screenshot it is requiring me a URL but the screenshot is saved on my computer

Whats the motherboard?

Have you tried xmp off and manually set 2400 and timings? Xmp is a preset determined by the memory itself, it tells the mobo how to run but mobo isn't accepting 2400. Try manually set 2400 and enter the 4 cas timing values under memory config if the xmp settings dont stick.

Update your bios possibly

Its Asus H170 Pro Gaming. I've tried setting it up manually to 2400mhz but then my PC wont boot up

Done :)

I got this from the manufacturer website of my motherboard it states that it can run 2400mhz

Which site did you see that? can you share link

From what i see this is the site and it states only 2133

A H170 board will only do 2133 data rate; a H270 board coupled with Kabylake CPU can do up to 2400; a Z170/270 board will go 3000+ with the appropriate DIMM kit.

Should go 2x 8GB for dual channel ferow. Maybe return 2400 for another stick of 2133 or another stick of 2400 if you're thinking of upgrading cpu. Difference between ram speeds is negligible, you'll benefit more in dual channel mode.
