I've had the same Dell 4600 for a few years. I haven't done any upgrades on it to speak of until yesterday. I bought a Radeon x1300 256mb AGP graphics card to replace the GeForce FX5200 128mb it came with.

The only other hardware I have is a CD-ROM and Writer, floppy drive, sound card, 2 small speakers, monitor, hard drive....very basic stuff.

The DiamondMM website suggests a 420 Watt PSU. That seems like alot of power for a mid-range card and I really don't want to fork over $50 for a new power supply. Do you think my PSU will be able to handle this new video card? Thanks.

just so you know Dell wont let you use anything but Dell power supplies... stupid I know but thats how dell makes money.

be aware that to upgrade your RAM you need Dell style RAM as well.
Newegg.com has a whole section on System compatable RAM
