Hi Guys,

I haven't really followed gaming laptops for quite awhile so pretty behind on all the tech. Read about all the rebranding of older generation cards so I'm confused on which is worthy to buy. What would you recommend for a good gaming laptop, got about 2,000$ to spend on it. Thanks! :)

Buy a netbook, then get a 1800$ gaming desktop that will smash any gaming laptop.. :)

lol, if it was for me, i would definitely do that. my sister wants a gaming laptop though, b/c she travels a lot along with college and i haven't had much luck running through all these articles for decent gaming laptops. any recommendations? :)

GET A DESKTOP, more bang for your buck, do some research on toms. Read about which parts are best, read about putting one together and build it yourself, it will be a ton of fun, thats what I did. Plus you will get better quality parts for cheaper. I have friends with gaming laptops 70 degrees Celsius+ with a giant fan underneath the bottom of his giant laptop. 10 poundWhy a laptop? Are you in School? Travel for business? I am in college right now, you don't need to be gaming at school. I guess I could understand if you where gone for a couple weeks work then a couple weeks home like some people up here do on the north slope.

That ASUS G74SX weighs 10 pounds plus a giant fan strapped to the bottom of it for another 2 pounds for a laptop cooler, ha ha ha! 165 degrees of sweltering Laptop gaming, it gets so hot so your friends will have to admit, OUCH!!! Thats hot!!! 12 pound laptops FOR THE WIN.

*Bonus* If some one breaks into your house you can beat them up side the head and give them third degree burns at the same time. Careful this machine kills.

I hope this is what you are looking for! I WAS NOT OVER EXAGGERATING THE HEAT OR THE WEIGHT!

Heat kills computers, you want your machine as cool as possible. It will last longer the cooler it runs if my PC hit 65 degrees C I would not be okay with that 75 degrees??? My CPU never hits 40 C and my GPU never goes higher than 55 C and thats after playing games constantly for 6 hours + at a time.

HAHA that made me lol when i read it. the laptops for my sister who's in college and does quite a bit of traveling. i do have my own desktop for gaming (i5 2500k system with xfire 6870s), i would never go buy a gaming laptop over a desktop. thanks for the info on the g74, 10lbs and all that heat is something i don't think she'd want. haha

awesome link pyree, i gotta check it out :)
