I'm prety sure you don't have an option but to put win98 on C unless your bios allows booting from D. Applications will work installed on D but many install programs don't give you the option and install in C:/Programs anyway. It is less hassle to install APPS in C and put data files (and anything else that you can path) on D

Hi,

Mostly all programs for Windows that you install, will give you the default location as "C:\Program Files\....." Just change the drive letter in this path from "C:" to "D:" and install. Everything will work fine.

Now for exceptions, there still exist programs that do not come with an install file, and they even tell you in their readme files that "this program should be installed only at c:\x...". Be careful with these programs, they can mean what they say. :)
