I was wondering, does it really matter what 3 1/2 floppy drive i get for my computer? I mean, i'm not looking for a colorful or cool looking one, im just wondering if it matters data transfer wise. Also, im talking about the regular 1.38 mb floppy disks. Thanks.

Hm... all I ever see are mostly Panasonics and NECs; I don't think it makes too much of a difference.

Wow! I haven't used a floppy drive in 2 years now! Who needs floppy drives when you've got a CD burner? I use a CD-RW as a floppy drive.

Thanks for the info all. I was pretty sure that there couldn't be a major difference in performance, but i wasn't 100% sure. Thanks again.

yep, there is a lot of sort of 3p1/2 floppy.
but i think the mitsumi is a good one.
you can try also panasonic but i prefer mitsumi.

if you know you don't know, the way could be more easy.

Not necessarily! You can still boot from a CD (a CD-RW boot disc for example) or boot from a Zip disk. Hehe.
