Hi guys,

I have a 3070 with a 12 pin connection to it. (https://i.postimg.cc/28x1kyqb/image1.jpg)

My PSU isn't modular and has 2 x 6+2 PCI extensions (https://i.postimg.cc/vTk3Dh2h/PXL-20210623-111941376.jpg) see the link to understand what I mean.

My question is, can I use the 2 x 6 PCI cables (not using the +2 cables) and insert them into the 12 pin connection on the 3070? (Like this - https://i.postimg.cc/L8f0gdp1/PXL-20210623-112027007.jpg)

Will this cause any problems or do I need a more modern PSU to use my 3070?

Really appreciate the help.

Solution
As mentioned above, there is an adapter that requires 2 8-pin connectors to be adapted to the 12 pin format. You can't just plug 2 6-pin connectors directly into the 12 pin socket.
No, you will want to utilize the adapter to ensure proper power / pin connection.

Why are you disagreeing with me? I am telling the truth. Look at the diagram on the box. 2x8-pin are required to use it.
