Hi Guys,

Unsure if this is the correct place to post this, if not please advise or move thread.

I'm currently using this 40" 720P Samsung TV as my PC monitor:

http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/t...=specification

I'm looking to upgrade to a new TV/Monitor to make use of 1080P res and 3D.
I've liked what i've seen with LG's Passive 3D as i'm not a fan of active.
Money isnt an issue

I've got my eye on this 42" for $1000
http://www.lg.com/au/tv-audio-video/...v-42LW6500.jsp

But considering going smaller such as this 32"
http://www.lg.com/au/tv-audio-video/...v-32LW4500.jsp

The reason for thinking about a 32" is because if both are @ 1080P, i'd assume reducing the screen size would = better picture?

The 32" screen shows less favorable stats than the 42" and most places i've looked (samsung & sony) show better stats and features on the lager models than the smaller ones.

Should i just go for the 42 and sit further back? Or am i going about this decision in the wrong way?
Assistance and/or opinions would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

waste of money... if you want a pc then buy a monitor no bigger than 24" 2500/1600 max but for most games 1920/1200 is the max you should go for as most cards will take a performance hit when you go bigger. also make sure you have enough gddr ram to cope with the screen rez. 1 gig for up to 1920x1080p/1920x1200 2gig if the screen is bigger.
using a tv will bring its own problems from things like games not detecting the display properly, ghosting and poor response rates. spend 200 on a decent monitor and then you can spen 800 on a decent flatpanel which you can connect when you want to watch a movie... it really is the better option...
