[SOLVED] 3800xt: Worth the jump to a 5800x?

So, as per the title, I was wondering if the jump from a 3800xt to a 5800x is worth it or not. I have a 3070 and currently play on a 1080p monitor. I usually get above 100 to 144 FPS on high settings but was wondering if getting a 5800x would offer a significant performance boost? The cost of the upgrade would be around $180 (if I sell my current CPU). I also had someone tell me that if I go from a 1080p to a 1440p monitor I'd get more frames than I currently do since 1080p is CPU intensive but whenever I max out settings I get about 98-99% GPU and 40-50% CPU utilization so I'm sure my 3800xt isn't bottlenecking my GPU. I'm just lost as to whether it's even a worthwhile upgrade or not. (Also to note I do pretty much strictly gaming on my PC.)

If you play CPU demanding titles, yes, I would go with it. Otherwise, I would suggest a 1440p monitor, and in some titles, even then the 5800x could show a difference. For instance, I only play WoW, and even with the RTX 2060, that I had at the time, the 5800x was a solid improvement, in min fps, vs the 3700x, and I play at 1440p 60hz. I am probably the exception to the rule, but it is something to be aware of.
I'd really like to but I just don't think it's worth the jump from my 3700X...a 3800XT would just be that much less worth it. If gaming is your only high-performance use of your PC then a 5800X isn't the best choice anyway...a 5600X would be. And it won't matter at all unless your gaming is e-sports and play at lower settings or resolution. Going from 1080p to 1440p puts more demand on your GPU...I'm pretty sure your fps will just go down and it's not because of your CPU.

I can't tell you how much better a 5800x is, but I can tell you that I have a 5800x and I love it. Paired with an RTX 3080Ti it runs Cyberpunk 2077 maxed at around 80-90 fps on 1440p quality DLSS.

I've heard they have aggressive temps but mine has not yet gone over 80 even for a moment. I don't know if that's because of my cooler, or good architecture, or both. I've only had my new rig for about two months but all things considered so far I consider it a very worthwhile purchase, assuming you're doing gaming
