With the Unigene and Cinebench threads, I figured we might as well round it out with the 3DMark thread. You can do either Vantage or 11, or both, doesn't really matter. Just download and run at default Performance settings. Screenshots are great as we can see the results right here, but certainly feel free to post the online link as well (example: http://3dmark.com/3dm11/526616).

1) Download 3DMark Vantage (basic edition) : http://www.3dmark.com/3dmarkvantage/
2) Download 3DMark 11 (basic edition) : http://www.3dmark.com/3dmark11/

3) Run tests

4) Save results (print screen -> paste into Paint ->Crop/save)
5) Upload results to photobucket or imgur or imageshack
6) Post results!

Feel free to run stock, daily overclock, and max overclock results! Or just one of them... doesn't matter! I think we'll have some great results spanning 3 or more generations of great cards so it could be really interesting.

most of the good games still have DX9 support
Witcher 2 looks great with DX9
Metro and Crysis 2 have DX9 and DX 10 support
and the HD 5770 is a very borderline DX11 card
on higher settings it is just barely playable
it is good that I am not a very demanding gamer
Maybe because of my poor vision but I am okay with framerates in the 20s and 30s
and I am more interested in GPGPU acceleraton and UVD than FPS
I am looking to get into folding@home heavily (as soon as I have a cable modem again)
but my HD 5770 should hopefully hold me out unto the next generation of cards
Possibly a HD 8770 or GTX 750Ti?
BTW I wonder what happens when AMD gets to HD 9xxx if they are going to redo naming scheme

a HD 977?
could get confusing because Nvidia is heading towards 9xx
Maybe they will start giving them names
they already have names for the cards
for example a HD 5770 would be a Juniper XT?
just go with name and then letters like GT,XT,Pro etc
I use to like the way they did the X series with the letters after it

ok so we both got low results :heink:
what can we do now o this :pt1cable:

now i managed to hit 1ghz on my gpu and 3.8ghz on my cpu in vantage and then i tested my system at those clocks.

today is friday the 13th.
and so is my score.

😀 this time i managed to hit i managed to hit 13k.
my cpu score is less than my previous submitted score but my graphics score is a little higher and that means vantage is concentrated on gpu performance

Well, don't forget that the 7970 smacks the 680 around in 3dmark Vantage, so it does depend on how it's used.

Thanks for coming out to play your rig got some very respectable numbers, now I can see for myself what
the FX cpu can do. Again thanks.

Honestly I love it !
I'm running 24/7 @4.7 and was able to achieve 5.2 no problems.

The biggest issue I had with all the reviews is the lopsided setups. AMD supported faster memory for a reason. granted it may cost slightly more (paid $40 instead of $25), but its permanently faster memory, even if you upgrade the cpu again, you still have the faster memory.

A well balanced system is only as slow as the slowest component. Eventually I will get an SSD, but thats really only load times.

Edit : lol, just did a search for similar setups, mine is the highest score. How many people around use 4x 160gb drives in a raid 0? I didn't even oc the gpus, but they are PC+ stock at 940 mhz.
