3dmark lock-ups with R9700

I just bought a radeon9700 and and it runs fine in everything... BUT 3dmark2001 SE locks up in almost every test. WHY? im also using directx9 beta drivers would this be the cause?

quite a likely reason...

no-one shouts louder than someone who is being ignored, or in the case of techies, to be heard over the noise of their PC's ;-)

Probably, I think 2001 SE only supports 8.1
