Yeah, I thought the same thing from when I had been following yours and videls original 14 page thread on the subject. Need to add here I really appreciate you, videl, overshocked and everyone else's patience in assisting us noobs at this stuff! I'm eventually going to get into asking some stuff about NB frequency as it relates to performance and actually heat produced by the cpu, but will save getting into that till another time...
My cpuid was one of those deals of just trying to see how high I could go, and that was the MAX voltage I ever went, and just got the ID and backed it down. On my 15788 3d run had the oc at 3.8 something and volts at 1.525, but again, that was a one off deal...
I really think needing that voltage was just masking some unstablity from my vid card to get it up that high. Since removing my card and using a differnt one I haven't had the time to play with the oc, but where I was needing 1.425 to be stable at 3.41 I'm now running 1.400 which is actualy 1.392 on my board... going to flog it this weekend and see what makes it happy 😀 I'm of a mind that the max I would run on a day to day basis is 1.425, and 1.400 is where I'd really like to keep it. My cpu just might not have the headroom to run 3.6 3.8 on a daily basis, but for a $95 chip, I'll be happy with 3.4/3.5 😉
