Ryan closed videl's thread so i decided to re-open 😉

Much appreciated :)

I originally paid $9 for my tube of AS5 which I have used 4 times, even if MX-2 cost twice as much, it is a pretty inconsequential price to pay if I am going to see improvements. Will do some sleuthing in the coming weeks, heh.

Hehe, MX-2 is cheaper than AS5 and you get a bit more paste =)

With that said there is no point, well at least for me there aint.. I have a tube of AS5 gathering dust somewhere in my room =)

Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound - OEM = 9.99$ + 2.99$

ARCTIC COOLING MX-2 Thermal Compound - Retail = 7.98$ + 2.99$

Yes - but Radio Shack or your local computer shop will have one or the other of them for the same price without the $2.99 shipping in most areas !! (never could figure out how I can get a Case and Powersupply shipped Free and have to pay $2.99 to get a tube of thermal paste !!

Hmm - I was going by their Web pricing so just figured it would be the same in store but just noticed that only the Ceramique @ $6.29 shows the ship to store option where the AS5 says web only. I agree on them having good deals normally on Newegg and do most of my shopping there as well (latest order picked up a cooler MAster TX3 for $4.99 including shipping after using a $10 off next purchase code they sent me - so yea they have some good prices !) - though the Standard shipping rates should adjust when you buy multiple items that could ship together on some items vs. a flat fee for each item but overall the are one of the best to order from !

The first benchies were released today, its performance was in some places 35% less then the 5850, which brings it to OCed 5770 levels. Not really worth it, and all the binned parts have actually made the card require higher voltage than the 5850 and the 5870 = bigger PSU requirement, and runs hotter. Glad I bought the 5770s.

They would not make a graphics card like that with out having another purpose. Like Extreme Overclocking..

Well Nvidia is in a bad position even if fermi comes out on time. I say this because the refresh or 6xxx is coming out in h2. For the source look for the thread i made in the graphics section called "refresh/6xxx series coming h2" or something along those lines.

okkay.?

Actually they are using up the chips that failed to pass for the 5850 level performance instead of not using them for anything ! (figure if they can use the defect chips on a slower GPU that they sell fro $200 then it helps lower the cost of production on the rest of the 58xx line !!)

Attempts to push to 3.8 ghz again has failed. QQ... On better news the Tuniq Potency 650w seems to be holding it's own very very well with the crossfired HD 4850's.

I have the best overclock for an Intel i5 750 2.66Ghz to 4.01Ghz So far.

Also this photo as the latest 3D Mark06 score that is 23449

Nice score 😉 , what is you LOAD temps at 4Ghz?

Think most of the credit goes to the GTX 260 Super Overclock. Thing's a monster of a GTX 260:

http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3656

Glad I grabbed one last week while I could (they're pretty much gone now from everyone's stock - rare card). Most reviews I've seen of it have it faster than a stock GTX 275 and just a little behind a GTX 285.

how far can you push that card?

I have a BFG Maxcore 260 @ 655/1405/1220, anything over that is unstable 🙁
