I have a BFG Maxcore 260 @ 655/1405/1220, anything over that is unstable 🙁
I just got it yesterday and the factory clocks on it are 680/1500/1250. Most reviews said they were able to get it up to around 720-730 for the core and 1325 for the memory. I'm so happy with it stock I'm afraid to push it. Probably get more brave after I've had it awhile.
I find it funny. Because I can have my Cpu cooler fan off. and Still never reach higher then 48c DOES that say something?
A dual core at 3.77Ghz will not produce much heat compared to a quad. My x2 550 can achieve 32/33c (LOAD) @ 3.8Ghz with a cheap Freezer 64. Once you upgrade to a quad core you will see how much warmer it will get under load.

Some would question spending that on a GTX 260, but every review has place it right between the stock GTX 275 and GTX 285 in speed, and oftentimes beating a stock HD 4890. Plus I don't have any DX 11 games and don't see any this year I want (not much into shooters or RTS). Gigabyte has used really careful binning to get the best chips and their "ultra durable" process of copper-based PCB, solid Japanese capacitors, ferrite core chokes, etc... to keep it as cool running and high overclocking as possible.
yea but not by much and we still have yet to see what AMD will charge.. they cut the ROP's in half compared to the 5850 so untill I see an actual bench vs the same card that you have I will still have my doubts..

They are using a regular 260 core 216, not the actual GPU that you are using.. Anyways its nice to see that the 260 was ahead in MW2 on all resolutions vs the 4890 and the 5830. This means that your GTX 260 will trounce the 5830 at stock clocks =) in MW2 😀
Wow looks like the thread grew a lot...hope I didn't miss too much...
gonna post vantage score soon on my crossfire...got about 13k there...
and the 5830 is not that bad of a card if you think about it...it's made from binned parts...
That's debatable in all but the most ATI friendly titles. Even in Tom's review look how a stock GTX 260 (216) can keep up with the HD 5830 through most games and resolutions. This Gigabyte SO is way beyond that.

sup videl =)
No, the 5830 is not bad at all here are some specs :
I really wouldn't know but you are getting close to the record score for vantage...
remember that in crossfire the scaling is never 100% so I would say you're getting what you should be...Nice score btw...I'm jealous...lol...in a good way...😉
