Ryan closed videl's thread so i decided to re-open 😉

Much appreciated :)

yep, but still kind of embarrasing since the total of the 295 + i7 920 is over 650.00$, of course once you bump up the clocks on the 920 it's a whole different story..

I was just expecting a higher score for such a setup...

True. I find it really fun to see how the next Mhz is going to make to make a difference. ^_^ Even though im stuck at what i have because of Mobo limits fault on my end.

well at 4ghz HT on turbo off under OCCT im getting 59 57 58 50 with 1.28750V Have to sort out the large difference in temps between the cores and use some better thermal paste, using some thermalright "chill factor" ATM.

Havent tryed running any stability tests at anything higher than 4ghz, anything above 4ghz is just for benching.

I dont dare run OCCT with 1.50000V  even under water

Who would?

Moving my files to my Second Hard Drive going to reformat and reinstall Windows 7. Going to try some things to see if i can get it back up and running. been having internet problems. Shrugs. Going to see if a fresh install will give me a few extra Points. Via 3Dmark 06.

I fixed my temp issues, reseated the HSF to be safe, and when I took it off, there was a huge area (about 1/3rd) of the chip that had only the smallest amount. I think I sat the HSF down at an angle and when tensioning the clamps, may have pushed it mostly to one side. I did a more thorough job in spreading out the AS5 with the credit card method this time, and first time booting it up, idle temps have dropped a solid 6c, down to 29c. I bought a tube of MX-2, but when I saw how bad the tim had spread, I decided to give AS5 another shot. Worst case scenario I have to reseat it again, but next time won't have a curing period, heh.

those temps are great considering the clock. Have you tried monitoring your temps with everest/speedfan/HwM?

No but i should, im using CoreTemp, I previously used Real-Temp but for some unknown reason it wont load anymore...

I think some quality thermal paste will help bring the temps down another 2-3C I might try some Indigo Xtreme
Some phase change magic 😀

The Indigo is way to $$ for what you get (2 applications), I guess if you have cash to burn it is worth a try.. Im fine with MX-2 or the Gelid Extreme =)

Try Everest whenever you get a chance.. the cool thing about Everest is that it will give you ALL your temps (NB/SB/MOBO/CPU/GPU/probes) etc...

Yeah its a neat program for sure. Your right about the Indigo, its alittle harsh as you have to melt the Indigo by running your PC with your CPU Fan/pump off for the CPU to reach 100C so to melt the Indigo into a liquid.....Not sure if im comfortable with that.

I'll run OCCT tomorrow and monitor with everest and report back the results.

I find it funny. Because I can have my Cpu cooler fan off. and Still never reach higher then 48c DOES that say something?
