Hello everybody....
So i have a question cause i ran out of ideas and im fighting alone with it already 2 months...im trying to set up an old comp...very old :na: ..and im going to leave it to my brother...so my sys specs are MB asus p4v8x-x,3.0e presscott,7300gt nvidia,wd 160gb..etc...so im running currently on 2gb ram,and i want to max it out on 3gb...i have 3 identical sticks of memory, samsung smtn...1gb,they all work,i have tested them, ram is brand new ive ordered it over ebay...so the problem is that on windows xp my boot screen freezes when i try to put all 3 of them on win XP sp3,to exclude the problem of not being able to put 3gb ram on this comp, ive tried to install win7,and it reads my ram perfectly well...but i want it on xp cause its much faster than win7....ive tried every possible way of applying these 3gb and pae switches but he just refuses to boot me in win XP...i have the newest drivers, bios is the latest BETA version, but ive tried with other also...if anybody can help me i would appreciate...thanx in advance...

Have you checked the BIOS RAM screens to see that the BIOS finds all 3 sticks, and all 3 GBs? Are the RAM BIOS settings for speed (MHz), Latencies (for example, 3-3-3-15), and the RAM voltage are the same as the values shown on the RAM's stickers?

BIOS ram screen shows 3gb ram,he sees all 3 ram sticks but he wont boot me in xp...ive already tried all on auto, and tried to set them manually to their min value or max its all the same, also ive tried changing their voltage but it makes no difference....now with the latencies i dont know cause i dont have an option in bios that allows me to set them,or i dont know for such an option...and also i should mention that i dont know what are my ram latencies cause its not shown on the sticker...
