2 years? Heck, by this time Next year it will be smoked.

I suspect Intel will have their new chips out and no doubt we will have true new high end GPUs out.

It may even be just 6 months till that system is dated.
By that time, Intel may have new Steppings for the Penryn out, these are just the first ones out the door.
The in 6months they will likely be OCing to even more insane levels :>
Also the new 8800GTS should be out that supposedly beats the 8800GT which may put it ahead of the 8800GTX.

And as Rodney said, buy yourself a Decent System and upgrade it as stuff comes out.

what monitor should I get than thats 22" or 20" that also has a nice sleek design?

The HP W2007 is just as good as Samsung 206BW

except samsun has 2ms and hp has 5ms...

Samsun has contrast ratio os 800:1 hp has 1000:1

hp has a sleeker design

With the system you are building a 20 or 22' monitor is well, stupid. If your going to have dual GPU's and a top of the line CPU. Then you want a 24" or bigger LCD. If you think about it your case, PSU, and LCD will out last everything else. It's like buying a HD DVD and BLU-Ray player for a analog TV.

What about just one GPU? Either Nvidia 8800 GTX or ULTRA; would I still need 24" +

With the cash your spending, and with gaming in mind. Yes, 24" or better. If you want to save some cash, drop the $1100 CPU and go dual GPU's. You will get more from them than your CPU. The Gigabyte board and 2ea HD3870's would be very nice with a 24" LCD. If you plan to overclock a X3220/Q6600 or X3230/Q6700 will do the trick.

For gaming: Matrox TripleHead + 3 - 19" monitors (total $1k). Add that to about $1k worth of hardware and you've got a great gaming rig.

OP = original poster.

How much more performance will I see if I get dual Nvidia 8800 GTX compared to single Nvidia 8800 ULTRA? Is the ULTRA enought or should I have to sacrafice 45nm processor so I can have SLI with 65nm processor?

I love the maturity of half the posts in this thread.

There *should* be a new 8800GTS that comes out on December 3 with 1 GB of RAM. One of these *should* beat anything out now. The Ultra is a unqualified waste of money. Even if you can afford it, it is just stupid to buy it.

I totally agree. It's just not worth it...but hey if you got the money to burn why not? When given $100 million and you can't invest it, it's hard to burn.

Pretty much buy the top of everything and that's that. The build you got listed is great to me, I can't complain other than it's expensive. However I would like to suggest you to get Noctua 120mm fans because they are really quiet and blows a heck lot of air for the noise. obtw it costs $25 each, not much right? :pt1cable:

Juste one thing or two or three...
Why in your suggestion you didn't mention the tj-09 or tj-07 for case. I got one and it's really nice to havemovable tray for the motherborad to got place to work.
I just do the math with the option and think I great PSU 850W will be enough.
One last thing even if you spend 4, 5 or 10 k on a computer, if you don't have ups to protect it you missed a point. Or maybe you plan to build an other one next year...
Thanks

I belive that the Thermale Armor Series Full ATX Tower looks better than the TJ09 or the TJ07. Also I belive it has better air blow, and cooling.

firstly I hate you for having that much money on a toy (no I don't)
but throw in a sound card I didn't happen to see one but I may have been a bit hasty ...just trying to save you a few measly mb'a of memory and miniscule amounts of processing power amounts...dude anything you buy should rock at that price.
