I just had an idea of swapping a few processors around in my boxes, and was wondering if it's possible to put a p4 2.2 400Mhz into a G-cube 533/800Mhz system?

Thanks,
B

What chipset is it using? Im pretty sure the 865/875 chipsets dont support 100Mhz FSB CPU's (P4A)

P4c 2.6@3.25
512Mb PC4000
2x120Gb 7200.7 in RAID0
Waterchill KT12-L30
Abit AI7
Ge-Force4 Ti4200

Well, I believe the main reason they say "533/800 only" is because they're trying to make sure nobody is using the old Williamette core on these boards. I'm fairly sure the 2.2 will work, since ALL 2.2's use the Northwood core.

The chipsets support the bus speed, I believe the problem for boardmakers is with the VRM not supporting the old Willy P4's which were available in Socket478 near the end.
