4770 vs 4770k?

Which one should I buy? I will not be overclocking and I don't think I will need to overclock in the future (maybe if i'm desperate?) But I'm sure I will not need to overclock as the 4770 is already including turbo boost.
There is a $40 difference in price. Should I just buy the non k? does the k have any differences other than overclock?
Rig will be for gaming/3d rendering

If you do not want to overclock then you should get the Xeon e3-1230v3. It's $80 cheaper than the 4770k.

The only difference is the K model support overclocking. At stock speeds, both will perform the same.

Assuming you don't want to overclock,

Xeon e3-1230v3 if you don't need integrated graphics, the e3-1245v3 if you do.

B85 or H87 motherboard would be fine.

So this is a older thread but ok the difference between the two is the fact one has a k one doesn't "So what's the k mean?" it means that it's fully unlocked your getting the most stock power you're going to get this also is a plus to gamers that overclock just to say this when you get a intel cpu with hyperthreading double it's number of cores so these will run like a 8 core while being faster than an amd with the same stuff and be cooler but um little off topic but I'd suggest the 4770k for the extra speed you get hope this helps
