Can I change my 4770K's speed to make it run like a Core i7 7700 non k for free? If no what processor should I then upgrade to? If yes then how do I do it and what settings do I have to use? Thank you.
I've been told that in order to game optimally at 165hz with my 1440p monitor that I need at least a Core i7 7th generation processor. More specifically the Core i7 7700. I was told that my processor simply was not fast enough to handle it. Well heck if I know. It seems to run fine to me. I spent extra for the 165hz monitor because people said it'd help me game better in shooters but I don't really see that it's helping so much. A friend who knows PC hardware helped me pick out the monitor and the graphics card earlier last year in 2017. If I'm not taking advantage of my monitor I want to know.

There's my parts list. Some things have been upgraded through the years. I know a little bit about computers. I know how to upgrade the SSD, the hard drives, the RAM, and the graphics card. But when it comes to putting a new CPU in I'm afraid of doing it. Those pins look too easily damaged so I only let a professional handle that part. I've done a bit of research and I can't find anything about making a 4770k as fast as a 7700. Help me somebody please.
