4gb ram shows up as 2gb ???? PLEASE HELP

I have an Asus P7P55LX mobo with 2 sticks of Corsair Dominator 4gb(2x2gb) 1333mhz (TW3X4G1333C9D) in the DIMM_A1 and DIMM_B1 slots ....

Computer freezes more often then I care to think about under heavy load.
When I look at what my system thinks it has in the My Computer screen it is telling me I have 4gb of RAM????
Why would it say this when i should have 8?
PLEASE HELP

Kit TW3X4G1333C9D contains 2 x 2GB memory modules for a total of 4GB. If your system reports 4GB total, then there's nothing wrong.

you have two sticks of memory, each of those sticks have 2gb of memory each.

2x2 = 4, not 2x2x2.

4G in part number TW3X4G1333C9D indicates that it's 4GB total.
