I am looking at getting this monitor (http://www.scan.co.uk/products/40-philips-bdm4065uc-4k-va-monitor-displayport-hdmi-vga-3840x2160-300cd-m2-500m1-3ms-speakers) for gaming and was wondering is there specific cables I need for it to get 60 fps rather then 30 fps? I have 2 290x 8gb in crossfire so I should be able to get a decent preformance at 4K resolution. Any other info ye think I would need to know is welcome.

Solution
I use the same monitor.
It will come with a displayport cable that you need to use.
In the monitor setup, you will need to change the default dp setting to 1.2.
That is the only way to get 60fps.

Very nice immersive monitor, you will be pleased.

DVI and HDMI are the same thing. The only difference is HDMI supports audio and DVI doesn't.

Therefore, it should work no problem.

Best regards,
Alec Ryncavage.

Solution
to utilze 4k at 60hz through HDMI you need 2.0 version for both your tv and gpu. amd doesnt support HDMI 2.0

Important 4k Note: One thing to note is that the screen comes as default set at DisplayPort mode 1.1. This will only support 3840 x 2160 at 30Hz maximum, so if your graphics card supports DP 1.2 you need to go into this section and change the setting to 1.2. This will then allow you to set the screen at the full 60Hz refresh rate in Windows. The screen is detected as a single display (Single Stream Transport, SST) as opposed to MST for those interested.
