Hello!

So I have some old-ish LG speakers a subwoofer and a DAC (amplifier) however I never thought about doing a 5.1 surround sound setup on my room with my PC because mainly I didn't knew how

I got the gist of it however I'm in between buying a cheap USB OEM Sound Card (around 20 dollars) or a PCIE Sound-Card (around 30 dollars) and I'm wondering if it will make much of a difference in sound quality/latency and if there's some limits that I'd have to avoid, I'm not an audiophile myself but I'd like to know if one is better than the other if it makes that much of a difference, I have a feeling it's more on the speakers and the amplifier more than anything but just to be safe I thought I'd ask first

Thank you as always in advance!

If you have a fairly new PC then you don't need a sound card - it won't be any better than the PC. Your PC should have 5.1 output that can go straight to an amplifier.
In my case, the speakers I use have the amplifier built into the sub woofer.
