512MB ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) HD 5470 vs 1gig version

I am helping my girlfriend with buying a laptop. She doesn't game but in my experience it's better to have the capability to game.

I need to know if 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) HD 5470 is good enough or I need the 1 gig version for casual gaming.

Is it a 1GB 5470 or is it a stronger GPU? If they are both 5470s but the only difference is 512MB vs 1GB it really doesnt matter, its not strong enough to handle resolution and AA settings high enough to make use of 1GB of memory so it wont make a difference.
