I'm really stuck and was hoping someone could give me some advice. I've just finished building a gaming rig:
i5 2500k
Asus p8z68-pro/gen3
Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz
OCZ Agility 3 60GB
WD Velociraptor 300GB
Windows 7 Ultimate x64

I'm looking for a graphics card to run BF3, Crysis 2 and some other graphically intensive games at 1080p and I'm not so keen on splashing out on the 7950 and definitely not the 7970.
I've done some research and found that in most cases the 6970 and the 570 are about equal however the 570 can over clock to around 580 standards whereas the 6970 comes a little shy of that and also it's less power efficient however it performs well in CFX which would be good when it came time to upgrade. From what I've seen I'd probably be happy with either card as both are capable of running Crysis 2 smoothly at ultra 1080p but I just wanted a second opinion.
I look forward to your replies :)

These are the cards I'm looking at:

It's up to you totally.

Make sure you check on reviews on the games you play and which card is better on your particular game. In my opinion you should get a 570, but it will consume more power, maybe more expensive and maybe shorter life span when you overclock it to very high clocks.

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/292?vs=306 but you have your mind made up LOL plus now in days it is not a matter of better GPU think of green and red when you mix them you get Brown like poop cause they will both *** on you = it is a matter of what games do you play and resolution and budget that should determine what card you pick not brand loyalty LOL. PS ego is a stupid mans badge of honor and being dumb cost allot.

LOL @ Gothams Finest

Amyway I was in the same situation, but I ended up getting the 6970 because its a little faster all around and supports better multi-panel + 2GB ram dont hurt either

If you're not interested in SLi/Crossfire, I would recommend the 570 over the 6970.

If I were you, however, I would pick myself up a 6950 1GB and be done with it. The 6950 1GB is such an excellent card for the money, and it's all you'll ever need for 1080p.

Look at this...

http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&rlz=1C2CHFX_enUS455US455&q=6950+1GB&gs_sm=12&gs_upl=1595l5794l0l7191l12l6l3l3l4l0l62l360l6l12l0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.,cf.osb&biw=1920&bih=955&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=9370804970320123307&sa=X&ei=P1kzT8TEJ6Lc0QHWt5DJAg&ved=0CEgQ8wIwAg

Come on!!! And a dual-fan for maximum overclocking!

It doesn't get any better for the money.
