So FUD's 1.6x faster post was rubbish after all what a surprise.

Looks like a real beast of a card. I'm waiting to see what the lower end ones are like so i can xfire them. 😀

you are talking only about ati but whats about nvidia gt 300 series, they will be a monster card and will wipe the floor with that 5870 believe me, 512sp, 2gb 2048mb GDDR 5 512bit card just say...

Damn, I don't think we will see any actual review/benchmarks today. Its Only PR presentation and not a real NDA lift. So for the actual performance we will probably still guess till 22nd.

I'm more interested to see what NVIDIA does now.

ATI now has a single card that uses very low power that falls between/matches a 4870X2/295. Good for $399 for those needing an upgrade, but hardly enough for people already with a 4870.

I'm not dissing that card, but I simply don't see the double performance, if these numbers hold up.

If this turns out true we finally break that 30fps min in crysis .As far as I know Gtx295 has that lowish 25fps in this game. And now I'm gonna go take a shower and stay there till benchies show up(lol) .Adios amigos

Guys think rationally. Think of the price u r paying first, then think what u would expect for the price you are paying then compare ur expectation to the real performance. U r not paying $1000 for a video card. Yes after all this year it is average 40+fps but u know crysis is a very much demanding games. And after all this single monster beats the dual card version of Nvidia, takes less power, less heat, more overclocking headroom(i guess). And still in the beta process when the drivers will be good this card will show much more potential i think. Sure they can come up with $1000 card where maybe u can get 60fps in crysis but think if u really will pay for that card. Not everyone(even some enthusiasts) can or willing to pay $1000 for a card just to play crysis in 60fps. U r getting this card at 400 which beats a card that is $500, emits much more heat, dual gpu version. So i think for that price range it is very much reasonable. Moreover u r getting additional features like DX-11 and more.

Im more interested in seeing what these cardws do and what the final costs are.
SLI loses alot of scaling in many games, as does cf, so itll be interesting to see how the x2 stomps the G300 when it finally gets here, since this card is being just turned down by a few as its compared to a x2 card, at least it appears to be winning, cheaper, has a newer DX version, runs cooler, uses less power, idles with lower power, and its x2 will kill any single core card made, no matter how much they want to charge, and how long it takes to come out

My irony/FUD/BS/rebranding detectors are failing me. What's up with this post?

If Nvidia can be fair game because they finance a dev team, then it's only fair to declare open season on ATi when they release a new card.

Thanks, Dekasav. Assuming "2048mb" means a single "moronbyte" (no offense; it's all about the metrics) of this exceptional Nvidian memory, 2048 * that should be 4194304 GMBs (Gigamoronbytes). That's an awful lot. Doom 4 better have some secret sauce to fill that up.

I'll hold you to that. 😉 , beside things are still somewhere between speculation, rumour and fact so I'm going to wait until a lot more numbers and reviews are in and even then it's going to be a long old time before 'proper' DX10/11 titles turn up.

Heres a few pictures of the reference cooler:

I really dont like that they still put the power connectors at the end considering how long the card is.

Well the common belief is that gtx 300 series will be faster than 58xx series, but how much faster and how much more expensive it will be. It's most propable one huge chip against "small" one again like in previous round. Even bigger issue is that this is jump from dx10 to dx11 for Nvidia and much smaller jump for ATI. So it's much easier to predict how good 58xx will be, than how gtx 300 will perform.
Nvidia has a good development team, but big transition is allways a tricky one.
