they might take back the crown but it won't matter except to a few Nvidia fanboyz cause they will charge a lot more for a small performance gain which with the software available doesn't mean crap.

WOW! you have 5770 already? so you already know how it perform in low resolution. dont say it ain't so. :non:

You noticed he said he hoped to get, which meant (according to my gibberish translator) means he doesn't have it yet and wish to obtain one (perhaps in the near future. Now he's also making a prediction or stating it will be good for low resolution applications.

Hed "hope to" and also the 5770 is clearly going to do well at low res, unless some how ATI ended up making a worse card then the last one the 4770 was a beast of a card at low res, just as/nearly as good as the 4850.

so you are another 1 who know how the card perform! i'm impress!!!!
where is the CONCRETE FACT buddy!

if i say, 9800gtx+ beat 3870 and gtx 285 beat 4870/90. then GTX 385 will beat 5870? THAT IS NOT A VALID ARGUMENT and gtx 385 might not perform better than 5870.
if A>B, C>D then E>F? is that even a relevent fact?

so saying 5770 will do well because 4770 did well isnt a relevent fact.

PS: I owned 3ati and 4nvidia, so i'm not a fanboy of either, no bias no bull.

I am goign to hold off for a little while to see what nvidia brings to the battle then get the better of the 2 and crossfire or sli them. Will be nice once dx11 games come out so we can truly see the potential of these cards.

what the hell are you talking about? We are comparing one card to its next level. Like saying the 5870 is better then the 4870. No *** it is going to be at least mildly better or else they won't release the damn thing.

And given all the benches showing the improvement so far of the other 5000 cards it is also safe to assume they didn't drop the ball on one random card.

You are going off on some random carp that no one said anything about. Who said *** about the GTX cards at all? No one. Now stop trolling.

Ah come on don't take on so its alright, no need to get your knickers in a twist because redwine01 has done the research and knows that the 5770 will be suited by lower resolutions. By which I as someone else who has kept themselves informed about such things am going to conclude that the reference was to the 128 bit bus the card will use. 😀

Mactronix

Sure, I'll take two - where are they being handed out lol?

Seriously, I think this looks like a great card.

Unfair perhaps, but I expected it would clearly beat a 295. Obviously its a better choice than the 295, especially when you consider you can Crossfire it and not be in quad SLI mode. Not to mention price for an opening offering of new tech.

But it doesn't. That would have made me jump on two immediately.

So I think I will wait a while - don't really need to ugrade right now. See what other vendors do with it. See how things unfold.

Well from what we have seen so far the 5870 should smoke the 295 hands down... That is what makes me think that Nvdia will not give up the crown w/o a fight....

People are buying them as soon as they are available.

Not really, I have been online since 5AM today and they have not sold 1 unit yet....

They should be available for puchase in a couple of hours.... Trust me the Egg will not run out of GPU's .... they have PALLETS that are being un-wrapped at this moment...They still have to stock the 5850's and 5870x2's......

I called them right now and they said they are getting a gazillion phone calls.... lol

Well considering I purchased a 5870 I think they sold out... In fact by Midnight est they were no longer available...

So that should mean that they got very few GPU's from AMD, don't know whats going on here but that sounds wierd knowing that this was the most anticipated launch this year other than the i5....

Don't understand why someone else is telling me a whole different story..... This does not make sense at all.....

Whats difficult to figure out about it? It doesn't matter how many newegg got, they are all selling out as soon as they become available. This is one of the most anticipated releases in gaming history and a hundred thousand could sell this week alone.

You are correct, they went on sale last night, and I bet the so called PALLETS only had a few GPU's... But this still sounds sketchy knowing that normally AMD would have shipped enough for everyone or at least 1 GPU per person..... I have never seen anything like this.... Now the Egg states that all 3 5870's that were on sale last night will not be available till mid next week.... That is not good news for AMD/ATI.... Short supply means they should have waited at least a week to make sure all stores would have enough GPU's for launch.....

Negative Sir, call the Egg and give them the item number to all 3 5870's and they will tell you that they have aprox. 100 GPU's available for next week..... That is not 100,000 GPU's :pfff:

That is a flop in my book......
