You have to remember some people have multiple Newegg accounts with different shipping locations (like a friend's house) and payment options. So while in theory you can only have one, but in actuality you can purchase more then one.

Yea I agree, but a shortage of GPU's means that they didnt get that many from AMD.... So todays launch day was not what everyone expected... Or at least what I expected...When you launch something you make sure you have enough at least for launch day, this was way everyone has the product and everyone is happy...

Whats difficult to figure out about it? It doesn't matter how many newegg got, they are all selling out as soon as they become available. This is one of the most anticipated releases in gaming history and a hundred thousand could sell this week alone.

I understand your point but I really thought this was going to be similar to Nvidias 2XX series launch and so far it is not even close....

I remember back when Nvidia launched and all e-tailors had enough GPU's for the first few days....

Since ATi's new hype is has been finally out on the market, and long waited new Direct X 11 capable GPU should be exciting for most people...

In shortage in supply is NOT a good news for AMD... simply because people will adapt to something different other than ATI (IE. Nvidia). besides the point, people shouldn't be waiting for the GPU to be in stock...

Just as I had thought, the main reason why there isn't very many 5870s is the same why there was and still is a shortage of 4770s along with Nvidia is unable to even get enough GT300s for debugging. TMSC's 40nm production is poor at best for volume production when the 40nm process is like a screen door on a sub for current leaks and erata. Well there is always UMC and Global Foundries but don't expect much any time soon for increase in steady volume production. I am getting bored and tired of lagging through games with my 9800gt and would like to buy a 5850 1gb/2gb but I'll wait till prices drop to around $200 (about 4 months due to decreased demand in failing economy). If not a 5850 then it will be a 5770 so long it won't lag at 1280/1024 at max settings and 16x aa with supersampling.
