So i recently build a new pc (see specs below) and it would shut down when idling and playing games. During need for speed heat (gpu ~99% and cpu ~80% usage) my 650W PSU would draw 710W and evantually shut down.

I’m confused tbh because everyone suggests a 650W psu for my specs...

pc specs:
Ryzen 7 3700x @stock
RTX 3070 msi ventus 3x
2x 16GB 3200Mhz
1x m.2 500gb & 1sata ssd 1000gb
PSU: be quiet straight power 11 650W

That wattage does not make sense unless that PSU is horribly inefficient or faulty.

I am running a 3700x with RTX3080 on a platinum 650w and under stress testing the whole system didn’t go over 546w at the wall. When gaming it goes up to about 430-450w.

Edit: I am also running PBO. The 650w recommendation NVidia gave was on a system running a 10900k if you read the small print. I expect it may be more a point about psu quality than wattage.
