Hey,

I recently purchased a Leadtech 6800LE. I unlocked all the pipelines and got serious artifacts. I am stable at 12x1, 6vp. In 3dmark05 I score 3928. Now, I have a couple questions.

Is there any way (the hardware mod I read about, for example) that I can open up the extra pipeline?

Is there any software I can run/ things I can do that will get me better performance?

AMD 64 3000+ 2.0GHz OC'ed 2.1GHz (multiplier)
ASUS K8N Motherboard.
Leadtech 6800LE OC'ed 360/870
512MB DDR400 RAM (want to upgrade to 1GB for BF2)
I don't think it matters but 80GB Western Digiatl (I think) Hard Drive

Overall I'm impressed with the card. It's 10 times as fast as my old FX5500, literally.

Oh, one more question, I know it'a off topic, but I can't find and answer anywhere... can the K8N take DDR600 RAM? I'll probably just get 400, but I'm curious.

Thanks in advance.

i have the same card and unlocked the same pipes, im almost posotive that were stuck here at what weve got. only think i could think of would be a volt mod, get better ocing and maybe give enough juice to those pipes. well Good Luck

A volt mod. I've read some things that lead me to believe taht may not be entirely safe... Wha's the maximum safe voltage on tis card? I really don't want to fry it.

The other thing I want to try to do is shut down a vertex shader and then try turning on the pixel pipeline. I have heard of some situations where that works.

Thanks for the quick responses, guys!

EDIT: three things...

1. The switch between the pixel unit and the vertex unit did not work. Still stuck at 12x1, 6vp. The only other option is teh suggesetion listed here about the Volt mod.

2. How do I apply the volt mod. My motherboard BIOS has an AGP voltage option, but I'm not sure that's it. (Available settings are 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, and I think 1.8)

3. What kind of speed should I be looking to get out of this card. I see some people stating they got the core clock to 500MHz. I haven't even tried it because rivatuner says anything past 375 is insane. 360/870 seems about on par with everyone on Newegg.

1. ya didnt work for me either lol, but a fool can try.
2. no it dosent have to do with the bios its an acctual hardware mod, although a little agp voltage could help.i know mine needs a voltmod cause my core can hit 390 but them my mem wont go up any but when i put the core down to 300 my mem hits 900 so ya.
3. ya never know what your gonna get, Good Luck.

Is AGP voltage the voltage applied to the connection between the AGP port and the Northbridge?

Well, I've decided against the volt mod for now. If in a year or 2 I discover that it would help my performance then I will consider it. Right now I am getting enough performance to run America's Army 1280x1024 full textures/shaders and 4x/8x AA/AF respectively. I can also put games like Splinter Cell Chaos Theory on full at that resolution and not have any problems. The card runs between a 6800 and a 6800GT, I got a great deal more then what I paid for... Now if I could just get some more RAM to play BF2, lol.
