6950 crossfire or 6850 2gb version crossfire

I don't have a big psu it will be 650watt and price wise the 6850 2gb edition £134 the 2gb 6950 £169 I was wondering about power consumption more than anything else

as you can see HD6850 CF smashes a single HD6950, but consumes alot more power, over 400W in furmark...

If your power supply is a quality brand like Corsair, Antec, Seasonic ETC... HD6850 CF will be fine.

If you have a good psu, like omgitsfatal said, you could even run two 6950 in crossfire.

scratch that 7850 crossfire or 6950 crossfire?

I can't find a HD7850 CF review, but a single HD7850 uses slightly less power than a HD6950 so we can conclude that HD7850 CF will use roughly 450W under load.

I still wouldn't trust a generic 650W to power HD7850 CF so again make sure you have a quality PSU, and if your not sure just tell us the make and model and we'll be able to help.
