Hi guys,

My current system is:
Core i5 7600
2x8GB DDR4 RAM
and a very old 8 yo NZXT HALE82 80+ Bronze 650W

Planning to pick GTX 1660 Super

Nvidia say 1660 Super will only need 450W
We know that my PSU specification is more than enough
But what do you guys think about its age? Should I buy a new one?

Solution
Your PSU is not under warranty anymore and if it dose come faulty one day and blows up could take your parts with it and yes PSU can live for so long but I would not trust 8 year old PSU with an new GPU

If you're getting issues that are caused by a faulty psu, then yes if not then no. That's personally my opinion on the topic. I've tested a few fifteen year old computers that had the original psus in them and they still functioned perfectly.
