$800 gaming system

im not sure of a computer i could get for $800. i plan on being able to upgrade/OC the parts. yet i dont know what to get.

Should be able to get a A64 3000+ on a decent mobo, 1gig RAM, maybe a 6600GT for graphics, etc.

Do you need everything including monitor and Windows?
Do you overclock?

Its been over a year, but I got a decent (for then) gamer with XP Pro for a little over 800, but I had a monitor already (but XP home is less than Pro and the difference puts you well on the way to get a monitor).

This is $685.5 but you still need a case and PSU plus if you're gonna OC a lot that RAM is value RAM and you'll have to get something else.

Anyway this is a starting point, you could save in one thing and spend more in the area that you consider more important.
