8400 boot problems

Every time that i turn the machine on the Cpu fan powers up like in
the diagnostic , some times to the same level other times more or
less, it seems to be random after the fan calms down nothing else
happens ... not even the post screen etc nothing the monitor doesn't
even come out of stand-by.
After stopping and starting the machine several times .... some times
a hell of a lot of times it will start as per normal.

HELP :x

Squint at the light built into the on/off switch........if it's flashing
yellow then your cpu isn't seated properly.

Failing that, look at the four colour coded lights labelled A B C D on the
rear of the machine and report back what you find.

Can you turn the computer on and off with the power button?
